What Happens When You Miss a Day
Each day you use Ritmo, you have a window to direct your contribution to a cause. If you don't make a selection within the allocation period, your contribution for that day goes unallocated - and you forfeit your advisory privileges over that portion.
Here's what happens next:
- Your contribution stays with Givinga Foundation. The unallocated amount remains in the Donation Pool, a donor-advised fund held and administered by Givinga Foundation, a registered US 501(c)(3) public charity.
- Ritmo recommends, Givinga decides. Ritmo may submit grant recommendations to Givinga Foundation for unallocated funds. Givinga Foundation retains full authority and final approval over every disbursement.
Where Unallocated Donations May Go
Ritmo may recommend that unallocated funds be used for any of the following purposes, subject to Givinga Foundation's approval:
- Grants to verified nonprofit organisations selected by Ritmo
- Donation credits for other Ritmo users, expanding the giving community
- Any other charitable purpose consistent with Givinga Foundation's policies and applicable law
Ritmo does not receive unallocated funds. All amounts remain with Givinga Foundation and are disbursed only for purposes consistent with its 501(c)(3) charitable status.
Administered by Givinga Foundation
Givinga Foundation is a registered US 501(c)(3) public charity that holds the Donation Pool as a donor-advised fund. Every grant recipient is verified by Givinga Foundation before any funds are disbursed.
What "Verified" Means
- IRS 501(c)(3) status confirmed. Every recipient is a legally registered, active nonprofit in good standing with the IRS.
- OFAC sanctions screening. All recipients are screened against the US Treasury's Specially Designated Nationals list before any disbursement.
- AML compliance. Givinga's framework follows US Treasury Anti-Terrorist Financing Guidelines and Patriot Act requirements.

What We Don't Do
Ritmo does not independently evaluate the mission, values, or programmes of listed organisations. We do not screen for ideology or discriminatory content. The choice of which cause to support is yours.
Legal Notice
The Donation Pool is a donor-advised fund held and administered by Givinga Foundation (EIN: 47-4172718). Contributions to the Ritmo Fund are irrevocable charitable gifts to Givinga Foundation. Donors may be eligible to claim a charitable deduction - consult a tax adviser for your specific circumstances. Givinga Foundation exercises full authority and control over all grant decisions from the Ritmo Fund.
